My giclée prints begin with a fine art, museum quality high definition Cruse Scan of the original watercolor. Then the image is printed on matte archival paper with fade-resistant archival inks. I print the images either larger or smaller than the original so as not to compromise the integrity of the original work. These giclée prints are in editions of twenty for the smaller prints and ten for the larger prints. Any size can be printed, however. If they are one-of-a-kind, they will be signed as artist’s proofs (AP).
An advantage of the large format print is that it can be hung directly on the wall using magnets. Drive a flat head nail (I use roofing nails hammered directly into the wall) then place the print on top and position the magnet over the nail. This avoids putting holes in the print. The other option is to frame the giclée like any other art work. All prints have white boarder around the image which is included in the giclée size.
